story:
A devoted mother struggles with feelings of entrapment within her family, as she searches to redefine her own true happiness.
synopsis:
All her life MIRIAM has been the go-to person when coping with loss and uncontrollable mishaps. Today she has come to realize that her once happily monotonous life is following its own course, as her son refuses to cooperate, her loving marriage feels more like a job than a romance and her ill-fated sister is preparing to drop out of her life. Miriam must now find it within herself how to heal her own wounds.
director's Statement:
Every culture, family and individual has their own struggles, dreams and expectations. Similar to the characters in this film, we cherish those we love by keeping them close to our side or pushing them away, knowing that the more we love, the greater the connection, the attachment, the greater the loss, the greater the pain, when change comes knocking on our door. What drives us— this living moment, or the struggles with its loss?
There is an Italian saying that goes, verde, la speranza non si perde— in moments of joy, moments of loss, of hardship and peace, hope is present. We may not see it, we may not feel it, touch or taste it— until we believe it.
